XXI · Completion & Wholeness
The World
Completion · Integration · Wholeness
The World is the card of completion. A long journey reaches its end, and what was scattered comes together into a whole. It describes fulfilment, achievement and the quiet joy of a cycle well finished, just before the next begins.
What is on the card
A figure wrapped in a flowing sash dances inside a large oval wreath tied with ribbons, holding a wand in each hand. In the four corners are a winged figure, an eagle, a bull and a lion.
The wreath is completion and success, a circle closed. The dancing figure is at ease, moving freely within it. Holding two wands echoes The Magician, but here the work is done. The four creatures in the corners, also on the Wheel of Fortune, now rest in harmony: all parts of life are in balance.
The World, upright
Upright, The World describes completion: a goal reached, a chapter closed well, or a sense of belonging and wholeness.
It can also point to wider horizons, such as travel, new communities or a broader view of your life.
The World, reversed
Reversed, The World can show something not quite finished: a loose end, a delay, or a search for closure.
The reversed card asks what remains to complete, and whether you are allowing yourself to recognise how far you have come.
The World in love
In love, The World describes a relationship that feels complete and fulfilling, or a milestone reached together. For someone single, it can mark feeling whole on your own.
What it means for you: Which kind of completion it points to depends on your question and your situation.

Usually “yes”.
As a yes or no card, The World is usually read as a yes. It suggests completion and a good outcome to what you have been working toward.
A meaning is general. Your reading is not.
