The Five of Pentacles is the card of hard times. Something is lacking, whether money, health or support, and it can feel as if you are out in the cold. It also points out that help may be closer than it seems.

01

Two figures struggle through the snow at night. One walks on crutches, and the other wraps herself in a thin shawl. Above them, a lit stained-glass window shows five pentacles.

The snow and the night are hardship and isolation, and the crutches and thin clothes show need. The lit window is the card’s quiet message: warmth and help are nearby, though the figures have not yet turned toward them.

02

Upright, the Five of Pentacles describes hardship or insecurity: money worries, health concerns, or feeling left out and unsupported.

It does not mean you are alone. The card asks you to look for the help that is available, and to accept it.

03

Reversed, the Five of Pentacles often describes recovery: a difficult period easing, support arriving or finding a way through.

It may also describe hardship that is dragging on. The reversed card asks you to reach out, and to let others reach you.

04

In love, the Five of Pentacles can describe feeling left out or unsupported, or a couple facing hard times together.

With money, the Five of Pentacles can describe financial strain. It favours asking for practical help and advice. It is not a prediction of loss.

What it means for you: What it suggests for your finances is personal. A reading offers reflection, never financial advice.

Usually “no”.

As a yes or no card, the Five of Pentacles usually leans toward no, or toward a difficult path. It suggests looking for support before moving forward.

A meaning is general. Your reading is not.
